Martha Skinner is Professor Emerita in Rheumatology (Arthritis) in the Department of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and previously Director of Special Projects at the Amyloidosis Center at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Dr. Skinner attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine and was a Fellow at Boston University School of Medicine in Rheumatology. Her research interests include the treatment and research of amyloid diseases.
She has worked in a program project which was supported by independent research investigators from diverse science backgrounds in the Departments of Medicine, Pathology, Biochemistry, Biophysics and Environmental Health at the Boston University School of Medicine and School of Public Health. The overall theme of the Program was to understand the structural features of amyloidogenic light chains that permit fibril formation in the tissue microenvironment that lead to amyloid deposition.
